Beloved of Hadrian
This is a lovely image of the Farnese Antinous which is currently in the National Archeological Museum in Naples. It is called the Antinous Farnese because of its prior location at the entrance of the Carracci Gallery in the Palazzo Farnese in Rome. The statue was one of the myriads which were produced after the young man's death and deification in October, 130 CE. He had been the beloved of the emperor for probably six years and the mythos of the young god was that he had laid down his earthly life as a sacrifice to the Olympians to save the life of his lover Hadrian. The emperor in gratitude founded the city of Antinopolis at the site of the death and ordered the inclusion of Antinous into the ranks of the gods.

Grieving Patroklos
This is a reproduction of “Grieving Patroklos” of 2007. The work attempts to reproduce the famous grief and rage of Achilles at the death of his lover Patroklos as portrayed in Homer’s Iliad. For all the ages of man there have been men who, for whatever reason, have preferred the particular eroticism which is only available between men. This is an effort to capture some of that glory.

Touching Three, 2004, Troy Caperton
A reproduction of “Touching Three" of 2004, a representation of the glory of the intimate touching that occurs between gay male lovers. Perhaps one of both of these men are in the military. Hopefully one day soon the United States will join the progressive nations of the world, such as Spain, and grant marriage rights to such lovers. Perhaps one day the United States will join such progressive nations, such as Britain, in allowing gays to openly serve in the military.

Nude Boy, 1881, Henry Scott Tuke
A reproduction of a work by Henry Scott Tuke, “Nude Boy”. This work was completed in about 1881. The artist was a native of Yorkshire who died in 1929 at the age of seventy-one years. His twin abiding loves were the sea and boys. This caused quite a stir in Victorian and Edwardian England, but he was nonetheless a member of the Royal Academy.
