Naked Smile

photo

This is a lovely 1997 image of a beautiful naked man giving a delightful smile.  This is a blast from the past, being a popular image on the internet from about fifteen years ago.  There are many reproductions of this image on the web but this one has been processed and enlarged.  If anyone knows the original photographer, please let me know and I will take further appropriate steps.  Hope you enjoy; it's one of my favorites and has been for years.

Four Naked Men

photo

This is a reproduction of "Four Naked Men" of about 1505 by Pietro Perugino.  This is a reproduction of an iconic image of four near naked men in contrasting poses, curving and angular.  The artist was probably from Perugia in Umbria and was probably about fifty-five years old when he created this work.  He was at the height of his career at this time maintaining studios in Perugia and Florence while also receiving commissions in Rome.  He was rivaled in his later years by Michelangelo and his pupil, Raphael.  He died of the plague in 1523 in Fontignano, a frazione of Perugia.  This High Renaissance masterpiece is 52 cm wide and 71 cm high and is in the National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh.
